Itinerary
Day 1 Porto - Peso da Régua - 100-200km
After exploring the Douro’s riverbanks, you’ll then take a detour to the hilly interior where you will find remote populations, villages where time seems to have stopped a long time ago. The delicious and protected Arouquesa Mea from this area is famous, particularly amongst meat lovers. Nevertheless, Portuguese are known for their gastronomic talent for all tastes. Opting by the off-road alternative you’ll explore the beautiful mountain range of Serra da Freita, visiting old schist and slate houses, roads, and agricultural terraced plantations. Serving as a habitat for several species of bird prey, this area is also a Geopark with vertiginous landscapes. Discover typical villages of granite, enter medieval and gothic worlds, while visiting 12th century (XII) patrimony. Take some of the highest roads in Portugal and then re-encounter the Douro, for a remarkable Port Wine Tasting.
Day 2 Pinhão - 100-200km
You’ll start the day in Régua, a famous city in the history of Port Wine, and then you’ll be taking the road Régua - Pinhao - considered by experts as one of the best roads in the world, in an index that combined the types of curves and the surrounding landscape. Once in Pinhão, also an important landmark concerning the history of Port wine, you’ll be discovering vineyards of the noblest grape varieties in the world, unique sights, and castles that belonged to Muslims more than once throughout history. Opting by an off-road alternative will take you in an incredible journey through traces of Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic civilizations, appreciating abstract figures, dated from 22,000 to 10,000 years B.C. At the end of a day, the best you can do is to take a rest in an unique hotel where serenity is the keyword.
Day 3 Pinhão - Porto - 100-200km
While leaving the oldest demarcated wine region in the world, first you will notice that the million turns that you experience along your ride when travelling the region start to be less frequent. Small, medium villages progressively transform into developed urban agglomerates, and then you know you are arriving the second largest Portuguese city, Porto. Now its time to prepared yourself for a handful of extraordinary experiences, to get to know the city, its stories, its gastronomy, cultural activities, its gardens, monuments, hot spots, its amazing history and what really makes Porto one of the hottest travel destinations of the moment.

Guide
JOUR 1
