La salida es desde la ciudad de La Paz a 3,600 mts. En este día nos dirigimos al pueblo de Coroico a 1,750 mts. Cruzaremos el paso de montaña La Cumbre a 4,680 mts y luego tomaremos el antiguo camino de tierra hacia abajo. A lo largo de impresionantes paisajes montañosos andinos, la carretera zigzaguea entre altas paredes de montaña y profundos abismos. Antes de que se construyera una nueva carretera pavimentada, esta antigua y estrecha fue utilizada por automóviles, camiones y autobuses en ambas direcciones, arriba y abajo, lo que resultaba extremadamente intimidante. Varios cruces marcan lugares de accidentes, que solían ser muy trágicos y frecuentes, por lo que esta ruta también es conocida como "el Camino de la Muerte". Hoy en día, es una ruta favorita para andar en bicicleta, pero también sirve para otros tipos de vehículos. Los conductores deben ir por el lado izquierdo y aquellos que van hacia abajo a veces deben retroceder para encontrar un lugar más amplio para colocar su automóvil en el acantilado para que los vehículos que suben puedan acercarse al lado de la colina. Día 1 La Paz - Uyuni - 0
Day 1 - LA PAZ . Transfer from airport.
In the morning we pick you up from the airport to the Hotel Oberland. After lunch (Lunch not included) we have a visit to the Moon Valley, about 16:00 pm. we have a short ride to get used to the motorbikes. http://www.h-oberland.com
Día 2 Coroico - 135
Day 2 - LA PAZ - COROICO (6 Hrs) (135 Km).
50 % paved road and 50% dirt road partly on the famous DEATH ROAD. Departure is from the city of La Paz 3,600mts. On this day we go to the village of Coroico 1,750mts. We’ll ride over the mountain pass La Cumbre 4,680mts and then take the old dirt road down. Along impressing Andean mountain landscapes the road zigzags between high mountain walls and deep abysm. Before a new paved road was build, this very narrow old one was used by cars, trucks and busses in both directions up and down, which was extremely intimidating. Several crosses mark places of accidents, which used to be very tragic and frequent so this route is also known as “the Death Road”. Nowadays, it is a favorite biking route but it also serves for other kind of vehicles. Drivers must go by the left side and who is going down sometimes has to back out to get a wider place to set his car at the cliff so vehicles going up can move close to the hill side. Día 3 Coroico - Chulumani - 100
Day 3 – COROICO- CHULUMANI (4 Hrs) (100 Km)
100% dirt road. On this day, we’ll be driving through a very warm valley over a dirt road with many slopes and curves. We’ll arrive at the village of Chulumani 1,620mts, where we’ll stay at a Hostal
Día 4 Chulumani - Oruro - 295
Day 4 – Chulumani - ORURO (6 Hrs) (295Km).
50% dirt Road and 50% asphalt. From Quime we’ll going up to the highlands.This day we’ll have spectacular mountains and rivers, also dusty roads. Later, a main asphalt road will take us to the city of Oruro 3,700mts. There we’ll stay at a fine city hotel.

Día 5 Oruro - Jirira - 270
Day 5 – ORURO- TAHUA-JIRIRA (6 Hrs) (270 Km)
From the city of Oruro, we will have a day of driving on asphalt road, passing through the town of ORINOCA, which is the village where the actual indigenous President of Bolivia, Evo Morales Ayma, was born and we shall have a look to the modern Museum of just his
history. This day we’ll arrive to a very picturesque village at the shores of the Salar, where we’ll stay at a basic hostal.
Día 6 Jirira - Turismo San Juan - 145
Day 6 – JIRIRA - SAN JUAN. (4 Hrs) (145 Km).
Definitely. this day is the most beautiful moment because we will be driving over the Great Salar of Uyuni. where we will have some spectacular and beautiful places to take unique photos of this trip. This day we’ll cross the Salt Flat from one end to the other, arriving at a town called San Juan at 3,800mts. where we’ll stay at a basic hostal.
Día 7 Turismo San Juan - Laguna Colorada - 420
Day 7 - San Juan- Laguna Colorada (9 Hrs) (420 Km). HARD WAY OFF ROAD.
Starting from the town of San Juan we have a very hard road full of deep sand and dry dirt roads. Without doubt this day is the hardest of the route, passing through the desert of Siloli, along Stone Tree and reaching at the famous Laguna Colorada where there is a very basic hostal only.
Día 8 Laguna Colorada - Mallcu - 240
Day 8 – Laguna Colorada-Mallku (7 Hrs) (240 Km). HARD WAY OFF ROAD
The eighth day is also off road, but not as hard as the previous day. On this day we will visit the Geysers at a height of 4,500 meters. Arriving to the the hot springs, you can have a bath in a hot pool if you like. Afterwards we leave in direction to the locality of Mallku Villa Mar to spend the night again at a basic hosal.
Día 9 Mallcu - Uyuni - 120
Day 9 – Mallku-Uyuni (4 Hrs) (120 Km). DIRT ROAD
This day is a more easy one as we shall drive about 4 hours and be visiting the City of Rocks and the Cemetery of Trains, arriving at the town of Uyuni about 1:00 p. m. There you have a free afternoon. Hotel: http://hostalmagiauyuni.com
Día 10 Uyuni - La Paz - 550
Day 10 - Uyuni-La Paz (8 Hrs) (550 Km). 100% ASPHALT
