Expedition Details
Feel on Top of The World when you are riding on World’s Highest roads to the Highest Motorable Passes.
We start this exciting adventure from Leh, centuries old town in middle of Himalayas which used to be part of Silk Route connecting Indian plains. Ladakh has stark landscape surrounded with towering mountains, a high altitude region dotted with beautiful villages and colourful monasteries.
We ride around Ladakh to Alchi Monastery which is more than 1000 yrs old and stay near to yet another 1000 yrs monastery at Lamayuru. From here we launch ourselves into Zanskar valley, one of most remote part of Himalayas which till a few year could be reached by trekking only. For a few days we would be criss crossing many mountain passes, across several valleys, remote villages and mind blowing scenic views. We traverse Zanskar valley across its length, riding up to Shinku La which connects Zanskar to Lahaul. We now take the Manali Leh road crossing high passes stopping at Tsokar Lake before we head to World’s Highest Ramsar site Tsomoriri Lake.
We then ride to Hanle village which has World’s Highest Observatory and it is from here that we ride to touch the sky taking World’s Highest road to Umling La 5798 m, World’s Highest motorable pass.
We take a sojurn on banks of beautiful Pangong Lake which is divided between India and China. From here we ride to the exotic Nubra valley where we enjoy the sand dunes in middle of Himalayas & ride double humped camels. We end the tour in Leh but not before we scale the mighty Khardung La which for many decades used to enjoy the distinction of being highest in World.

Itinerary
Day 1 Leh airport - Leh
Arrive Leh
Meet on arrival at airport and transfer to hotel. Today is a complete day free for acclimatization. Evening free to enjoy a walk around Leh market or visit the Leh Palace or enjoy sunset from Shanti Stupa. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2 Lamayuru - 160
Leh/ Alchi/ Lamayuru (160 kms/ 5 hrs)
Post breakfast we start our ride to Sham valley. We witness the confluence of Zanskar & Indus valley at Nimmu and continue further to Alchi monastery which is more than 1000 years old and one of most important in Ladakh. We continue our ride further to Lamayuru, which is another more than 1000 yrs old monastery, beautifully perched on a mountain slope and has an impressive statue of Avalokiteshwara, God with 1000 hands. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 Lamayuru - Padum - 160
Lamayuru/ Sirsir La/ Padum (160 kms/ 8 hrs)
After breakfast we ride down the valley taking a road up the mountains towards Sirsir La. We cross villages of Wanla & Hanupattta to the Sirsir La (4760 m). From the pass we get a spellbinding view of the mountains and valley. We ride down to Photoksar village from where we ride towards our other pass Singe La taking a lot of winding roads and hair pins. Today you get to view one of most astounding scenic views and ride. We ride through mountains and valley of Zanskar region to arrive by evening at Padum. Check in and overnight at hotel.
Day 4 Padum - Padum - 0
In Padum
Today we take a break to explore the small town of Padum. We ride to explore Karsha monastery and Sani Monastery. Afternoon is free to relax. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5 Padum - Jispa - 150
Padum/ Shinku La/ Jispa (150 kms / 7 hrs)
A long day of riding across Zanskar Valley. We start riding in morning enroute crossing Bardan Gompa to reach Purne. We keep enjoying our ride across the valley with towering mountains on both ends and with views of holy Gombo Rangjan mountain. After crossing the holy mountain we start ascending to Shinku La 5091 m crossing it to enter Lahaul valley and down to Darcha from where we ride to Jispa. Check in and overnight in hotel.
Day 6 Jispa - Tso Kar - 225
Jispa/ Baralacha La/ Tsokhar (225 kms/ 7 hrs)
On your bikes from Jispa to Sarchu enroute crossing Darcha and over Baralachala Pass (4800 m). We ride across Sarchu plains and start ascend on Gatta Loops which is set of 18 hairpin bends to Naki La from where we cross another pass Lachung La and crossing Moore plains to reach Tsokar Lake. On arrival check in at camp. Evening free to walk around the lake and you may chance upon sight of rare endangered Black Necked Crane or the Tibetan Ass. Overnight in camp.
Day 7 Tso Kar - Tso Moriri - 100
Tsokhar/ Tsomoriri Lake (100 kms/ 4 hrs)
After breakfast we start our ride to Karsok village crossing Polokong La 4985 m. We arrive at Karzok village located beautifully on banks of Tsomoriri lake at 4522 m. The lake and surrounding area are protected as the Tso Moriri Wetland Conservation Reserve, it’s the World’s highest Ramsar site. We check in at camp. Later we walk to the Karzok monastery and spend time around shores of the lake appreciating its beauty. Overnight in tents.
Day 8 Tso Moriri - Hanle - 180
Tsomoriri/ Hanle (180 kms/ 5 hrs)
We spend the morning to walk around and enjoy the pristine beauty of Tsomoriri Lake. Later we ride to Mahe Bridge where we cross river Indus and ride to small settlement of Hanle, which is a wonderful place for star gazing and has Asia’s highest observatory. We stay overnight at a local homestay and relax to be ready for an exciting morning.
Day 9 Hanle - Umling La - 150
In Hanle – scale Umling La **highest pass in World
Morning we start riding taking a dirt road for 30 kms, riding across a vast Tibetan plateau and then scaling a mountain pass. We ride down from here to Chisumle from where our ascend to Umling La starts. We reach the top of Umling La, having the distinction of being the highest motorable pass in the World, 5798 m. We click many pictures and spend a little time at the top and then to ride down towards Chisumle and then back to Hanle for overnight.
Day 10 Hanle - Pangong Tso - 190
Hanle/ Pangong Lake (190 kms/ 7 hrs)
After breakfast we start our ride back to Loma crossing river Indus and then towards Pangong Lake, riding along Indus river for a little more than an hour and then through remote regions crossing villages of Tsaga and Chushul. A mesmerising ride, specially while we ride along Indus and then towards end along breath-taking Pangong Lake. Arrive Pangong, which is the highest salt water Lake in the World, shared by two countries India & China. Enjoy the beauty of the lake. Overnight in camp.
Day 11 Pangong Tso - Nubra Valley - 140
Pangong/ Nubra (140 kms/ 5 hrs)
We start early riding from Pangong to Shyaok from where we follow the course of Shyok river providing excellent scenic views to the beautiful Nubra valley. We arrive at Deskit and visit the monastery, riding further to Hundur village. At Hundur we check in at camp and later visit. The sand dunes & enjoy double humped camel ride. Overnight in camp.
Day 12 Nubra Valley - Leh - 120
Nubra/ Khardung La/ Leh (120 kms/ 6 hrs)
We start in morning towards North Pullu from where we start our climb to cross Khardung La which was once famous as the highest motorable pass in the World. We ride down to Leh with views of Ladakh range and the city throughout our ride. We check in at hotel. Rest of day free. Overnight at hotel.
Day 13 Leh - Leh - 0
In Leh
Day free to explore the town or visit at your own will, few of cultural sights like Stok Palace and Hemis monastery. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14 Leh - Leh airport - 0
Depart Leh
Intime transfer to Leh airport to connect flight to Delhi. End of tour.

Siéntete en la cima del mundo cuando recorras las carreteras más altas del mundo hacia los pasos transitables más altos.
Comenzamos esta emocionante aventura desde Leh, una ciudad centenaria en medio del Himalaya que solía ser parte de la Ruta de la Seda que conectaba las llanuras indias. Ladakh tiene un paisaje desolado rodeado de imponentes montañas, una región de gran altitud salpicada de hermosos pueblos y coloridos monasterios.
Recorremos Ladakh hasta el monasterio de Alchi, que tiene más de 1000 años y nos quedamos cerca de otro monasterio de 1000 años en Lamayuru. Desde aquí nos lanzamos al valle de Zanskar, una de las partes más remotas del Himalaya a la que hasta hace unos años sólo se podía llegar haciendo senderismo. Durante unos días cruzaríamos muchos pasos de montaña, varios valles, pueblos remotos y vistas panorámicas alucinantes. Atravesamos el valle de Zanskar a lo largo de su longitud, subiendo hasta Shinku La, que conecta Zanskar con Lahaul. Ahora tomamos la carretera Manali Leh cruzando pasos altos y parando en el lago Tsokar antes de dirigirnos al sitio Ramsar más alto del mundo, el lago Tsomoriri.
Luego nos dirigimos al pueblo de Hanle, que tiene el observatorio más alto del mundo y desde aquí viajamos para tocar el cielo tomando la carretera más alta del mundo hasta Umling La 5798 m, el paso transitable más alto del mundo.
Pasaremos una estancia a orillas del hermoso lago Pangong, que se divide entre India y China. Desde aquí nos dirigiremos al exótico valle de Nubra, donde disfrutaremos de las dunas de arena en medio del Himalaya y montaremos en camellos de doble joroba. Terminamos el recorrido en Leh, pero no antes de escalar el poderoso Khardung La, que durante muchas décadas solía disfrutar de la distinción de ser el más alto del mundo.
