The Ruta de Los Túneles is a route that goes through the foothills of approximately 120 km and joins the towns of Cabildo and Illapel. It is currently completely paved and it goes through old one-way railway tunnels. The road has marked slopes and curves that make driving enjoyable and allow you to appreciate the surroundings of interior valleys and some panoramic views. From Santiago to Illapel, detours can be taken to make sections on unpaved roads depending on the interests of the clients.
The trip to Illapel using this route takes 4.5 hours, traveling about 290 kilometers.
